Stacey Laugel — UX Specialist
20+Years of experience

With over 20 years in UX, I've grown from hands-on design and front-end work into a strategic leadership role — shaping the direction of digital experiences, building design systems, and establishing the research practices that keep teams grounded in what users actually need.

At Corporate One Federal Credit Union, I lead UX strategy across products and services, using member research to inform roadmaps and drive decisions at the organizational level. I built and launched a member feedback program — Peer Council — that creates a direct channel between credit unions and the teams building for them.

I hold a UX Master Certification (UXMC) from Nielsen Norman Group with specialties in UX Management and UX Research. I am also a Certified Executive Manager (CEM), with additional certifications in Advanced Management, Performance Leadership, UX Design and Google Analytics. My computer science background gives me a strong foundation for collaborating with developers and bridging the gap between design intent and technical execution — though my focus today is firmly on strategy, systems, and the people who make great work happen.

How I work

Design Philosophy

Strategy before pixels

Great outcomes start with the right questions. I invest in understanding the problem space — through research, stakeholder alignment, and roadmap clarity — before any design work begins.

Research-informed decisions

I build feedback loops and research programs that keep teams connected to real user needs, so decisions are grounded in evidence rather than assumptions or internal opinion.

Systems thinking

Consistent, scalable design systems reduce friction for both users and teams. I champion design systems as a strategic asset — not just a component library.

Innovate with intention

Innovation isn't about chasing trends — it's about finding better ways to solve real problems. I bring a curious, inventive mindset to every challenge, always asking how we can do this smarter for the people we're designing for.

Let's work together.
